What is No Fuss Gym?

No Fuss Gym is an independent strength training app, built to be one of the best in its category, without compromising on how it treats its users.

The project started from a simple frustration: after years of lifting, we were tired of apps packed with ads, and of those that, even behind a paid subscription, kept tracking and selling user data to third parties. Paying to be the product? No thanks.

NFG is the answer to that. No ads. No tracking. No data reselling. Just a serious app, built by lifters, for lifters. Every feature is there because it makes sense for your progress, not to inflate screen time or feed an ad algorithm.

Supporting NFG means betting on a different model: an independent project that respects your intelligence rather than exploiting it. If that resonates with you, welcome.

General

Does the app work without an internet connection?

Yes. NFG is designed to work fully offline: all your data is stored locally on your device. Premium users also get automatic cloud backups, synced whenever a connection is available.

What languages are supported?

NFG is available in 7 languages: French, English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch. More languages may be added as the app grows and new users join.

What devices does NFG support?

NFG is available on iOS and Android, on both phones and tablets.

Data & Security

Is my data sold or shared with third parties?

Never. No data is sent to advertisers or third parties. You have full access to your own data at any time. Premium users also benefit from cloud backups of their workouts and history, hosted in Europe.

What happens if I switch devices?

Premium users

When you log in on a new device, all your data is automatically restored from the cloud.

Free users

Data is not synced. If you switch devices, you start fresh. That's why NFG includes a manual export and import system. Make sure to export a backup before changing devices.

Can I recover deleted data?

Deleted data is permanently removed after 30 days. Once that window passes, recovery is not possible. We recommend using the export feature to keep a backup of your data.

Training

Does the program generator use artificial intelligence?

No. The program generator relies on an algorithm that selects and assembles pre-built programs, each validated by a certified strength coach. These programs are balanced, coherent and designed to drive progress, and will grow over time.

No app replaces a real coach. Posture, technique, adjustments for your body or any pain you're dealing with can't be assessed remotely. NFG programs are a solid tool, not a personalized medical or sports prescription.

Why does the RPE scale go from 1 to 6 instead of 1 to 10?

Most apps use a 1-to-10 RPE scale. In practice, research shows it's very hard for users to reliably tell the difference between a 7 and an 8 effort. NFG uses a simplified 1-to-5 scale, with 6 representing muscular failure.

Far from being a limitation, this simplification actually produces more consistent and reliable data over time.

Premium

How does NFG's business model work?

Many fitness apps offer low prices, or even go free. That model is typically funded through advertising, behavioral tracking and the sale of user data to third parties. That's not how we operate.

NFG has no ads, sells no data and doesn't track you. Subscription revenue is our only income: it directly funds development and ensures you're the user, not the product.

I subscribed to Premium but can't access it
  1. Force-close the app and reopen it
  2. Make sure you're logged in with the same account used for the purchase
  3. If the issue persists, contact us, we'll sort it out quickly.
How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed directly by the App Store or Google Play, not by NFG.

iOS

Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › No Fuss Gym › Cancel Subscription

Android

Google Play › Profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › No Fuss Gym › Cancel

Your Premium access stays active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for.

Can I use NFG on multiple devices with the same account?

Yes, you can log in with the same account on multiple devices. Cross-device sync is a Premium feature: only Premium users have their data updated automatically across all their devices.

Troubleshooting

Cloud sync isn't working
  1. Make sure you have an active internet connection
  2. Check that your Premium subscription is active (Settings › Subscription)
  3. Force-close the app and reopen it, sync triggers automatically on startup
  4. If the issue persists, contact us and let us know your device and operating system.
My stats aren't updating

Stats are calculated from your logged sessions and updated at the end of each workout.

  1. Fully close the app and reopen it
  2. Check that your sessions are marked as completed in your history
  3. If the issue continues, report it to contact@nofussgym.com and describe what you're seeing.
How do I report a bug?

Send us an email at contact@nofussgym.com. To help us reproduce and fix the issue as quickly as possible, please include:

  • Your device (e.g. iPhone 14, Samsung Galaxy S23)
  • Your operating system and version (e.g. iOS 17.4, Android 14)
  • The exact steps that led to the problem
  • A screenshot if possible
